2016 – What a year! Reflections from Bridget

Uncategorized Dec 30, 2016

“It’s been quite a year.” Explains Bridget, Hundred Acre’s founder and director. “A year that has been punctuated throughout with some significant incidents, which have led to the loss of lives alongside the loss of many well-known faces. It’s a constant reminder that life is short and every day is a blessing to live to the full.

“While many are on holiday this week, I’m sat finishing off the last client days and work of the year. While I do, I can’t help but reflect and ponder a year that has left me with so many reasons to smile. Achieving my Fellowship, becoming VP of IOSH, completing my D of E Diamond challenge and finding a new hobby I’ve loved while doing it, a Hundred Acre adventure and many more reasons too.

“While I might have lots of events that have made me smile, I couldn’t do all of this alone. I have the privilege of working with some wonderful clients and I get to train fantastic delegates on different courses. There are also those who have supported me and my Hundred Acre world, and just made life easier.

“There are many people to thank though there are a few that I want to mention individually. 2016 has been a far better year as I took the time to truly understand my numbers. A different set of eyes and some tools to make number crunching far less of a chore have made the biggest difference. Nikki Butlin of Athena Business Services has made this so much easier for me. Some shared adventures with Nikki have been just brilliant as time out is so important. Thank you, Nikki, 2016 would not have been the same without you.

“There are also two people who support me behind the scenes and just make life easier. They have been around for a while though this year everything has stepped up a gear. Dee Atkins, Miss Make it Happen and Heather Kynnersley, The Digital Editor. They are both there for me, they get me and I have no idea what I would do without them!

“Reflection is so important to me. I love cherishing memories as well as making future plans. On the 31st, as the year draws to a close, I will sit and reflect, drink some bubbles and look forward to another new year and all the opportunities and new adventures it will bring. There are so many things that already look awesome and I can’t wait to see what else comes along!

“I wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017. X”
