On this day last year (11th May 2015), we posted our first Hundred Acre blog post. What a year it’s been! Since our welcome post, our blog has gone from strength to strength, receiving industry recognition and praise from companies worldwide.
We’re delighted that our most popular post was “What can Winnie the Pooh teach us about Health and Safety?” because it really does reflect Hundred Acre. We want everyone to understand health and safety legislation and how different personality types react to policies and procedures. It seems the analogy of comparing individuals in an organisation to the characters of Hundred Acre Wood really has helped people understand personality types in their workplace much better, which we’re thrilled to hear.
For Hundred Acre’s founder and director, Bridget Gilmour, one of the most exciting blog posts was the Winnie the Pooh post as it means so much to her, though undoubtedly the “Chartered Fellowship – The Pinnacle of my Career” post was too. Bridget explains: “I am often told by companies I work with that they appreciate the way I think and talk about safety so sharing thoughts in a blog was a natural next step. I really can’t believe it has been a year since this started as it has been so great to share perspectives and stories and to receive comments and recognition from around the world on what has been shared. I am really looking forward to another year and some of the posts we have planned.”
By its very nature, health and safety is a caring profession. Those who work in the industry really do want everyone to go home safely and in the same physical and emotional state as they arrived to work in every single day. That’s why we like to include heartfelt blog posts like “Remembering” posted on 5th November, and “Remember the Dead, Fight for the Living” posted on 24th April.
What’s next for Hundred Acre’s blog?
We know you like to be kept up to date with what’s happening in our Hundred Acre world and we love sharing our stories with you, so that won’t stop. We’ll also talk about what we do and who we are, why we love doing what we do and what makes Bridget Gilmour and Hundred Acre tick. There’s a Hundred Acre adventure on the cards and we can’t wait to share it with you!
We’re delighted that our blog has encouraged not only readers in the UK to get in touch, but also those in Canada, the USA and New Zealand. We hope you all continue to enjoy our posts and we look forward to reading your comments.
