Our V&A Adventure

Many of you know we love adventures here at Hundred Acre, and we never need an excuse to go on one. Our latest adventure was one we’d waited months for, and on Friday 8thDecember, we finally made our way to London to visit the V&A.

The V&A is a wonderful museum, billed as the world’s leading museum of art and design. It’s filled with all sorts of free exhibits as well as special exhibitions throughout the year. Following on for some wonderful predecessors including David Bowie, Pink Floyd and the incredible Alexander McQueen, this week has seen the opening of one we couldn’t wait to visit; Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring a Classic.

As most of you will be aware, Winnie-the-Pooh is important in our Hundred Acre world, and he’s also one of the most popular children’s characters of all times. This magical exhibition walks you through a Hundred Acre world, telling the story of the origin and creation of our favourite bear. While the original toys are on permanent display in The New York Public Library, this exhibition includes so many special treasures; A. A. Milnes’ original manuscript, letters and dozens of E. H. Shepard’s original sketches and drawings.

The V&A has created a wonderful display that can be enjoyed by visitors and fans of any age, as proved by everyone we met on our visit. For us, it was a grand adventure, a reminder of our adventure to the real inspiration of Hundred Acre, and a place where new memories were made. And of course, we also enjoyed a little smackerel of something too!

We’ve been on a number of Hundred Acre adventures, though this one was something quite special. We already know we’ll be visiting again and we’d highly recommend the exhibition and all the V&A has to offer to everyone.

Please enjoy our memories below and don’t hesitate to contact us with any occupational safety and health queries you may have.
